The Bowhunter Chronicles Podcast – Episode 162 – Dane Waldman – Dryad Saddles – Is This Thing For Real? – This week Adam and John sit down and talk with Dane Waldman creator of Dryad Saddles. The Dryad saddle is not just another cookie cutter saddle saddle company who decided that they could sew and wanted to make a buck off of the booming saddle market, Dryad decided to think outside the diaper so to speak. Some might say thay Dryad has gone to far and made a product that is so outside the box, that it can’t work, that it’s a joke or there is no way you can hunt from it. We decided that we needed to talk with the man behind this thing to find out just what the hell was going on wth this thing. Prior to the podcast both John and Adam were able to get a chance to check out one of these saddles, to set it up sit in it and spend a little time with it so we didn’t go into this with a closed mind. The Bowhunter Chronicles Podcast – Episode 161 – Targeting Mature Whitetail in the Big Woods – Dieter Kochan – Whitetail Addictions – This week John Is back and he and Adam sit down to talk with Dieter Kochan about hunting mature bucks in the big woods of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Dieter hunts large parcels public land across the many different landscapes the Upper Peninsula has to offer. Dieter is using a strategy involving mock scapes, mineral sites and trail cameras to locate, pattern and kill large mature whitetails. We talk about winters, wolves, hockey and taxidermy on this episode. Not the conservation and deer numbers side of things but the side from which we see and are exposed to hunting each and every day, the marketing side. The newest this, the latest that. This years saddle is better, this stand is the best, sticks on sticks on sticks. We buy it all and yet 90% of us still don’t meet our expectations for the hutning season. Total Archery Challenge 2021

The Bowhunter Chronicles Podcast – Episode 159 – Total Archery Challenge 2021 – This week Adam, John and Frank sit down and recount their experiences at the 2021 Total Archery Chalenge at Boyne Mountain. This was our 5th out of 6 years and the event has progressed quite a bit in that time. This year we shot 4 out of the 5 courses and had a great time. The Nock On course proved to be the most physically demanding and had the most technical shots with lng shots and steep angles, John Duduley was at te event and out on the course shooting with everyone and providing an opportunity to talk to all that asked. We got to talk with the guys from Tethrd, the guys from Zinger fletchings, and hang out with our friends from Latitude. Overall it was a great event, its not a competition, its not a substitute fr hunting or scouting but it is a great place to meet like minded hunters and archers and test your archery skills in psuedo hunting situations. A great event with great people and if you have one in your area or say within a 4-5 hour drive of your area I would sincerely reccomend you plan for it next year.

Total Archery Challenge 2021

The Bowhunter Chronicles Podcast – Episode 159 – Total Archery Challenge 2021 – This week Adam, John and Frank sit down and recount their experiences at the 2021 Total Archery Chalenge at Boyne Mountain. This week John and Adam talk with Mark Livesay from Trereline Pursuits and Treeline Academy about thinks to think about when preparing for your first elk hunt or for an elk hunt as a beginner. Mark has some of the best information available on E-Scouting for elk and getting away from and utilizing pressure to become a more succesful elk hunter. Its said that the average OTC elk hunters success rate with archery equipment, the information that Mark provides is tailored specifically to increase those odds dramatically as well as quickly. Ultimately there is no repleacement for experience or boots on the group, but prepartation can definately help to increase the odds for flatlanders headed west.
