Women in the Outdoors – Krissy Hay Knox

Bowhunter Chronicles Podcast Episode 81: Women in the Outdoors – Krissy Hay Knox

This week Adam and John talk with Bowtech Ambassador Krissy Hay Knox about women hunters and women in the outdoor industry. We met Krissy by chance at the 2019 ATA show and talked for 10 minutes and that’s all it took to see that we needed to have her as a guest on the podcast.  We talk about her hunting upbringing from an early age and how she got into bowhunting as well as the outdoor industry.  Krissy epitomizes a true outdoorsman with both her outlook on hunting as well as her motivations.  We talk about the differences in expectations for male and female hunters, the new bow tech lineups and Krissy also shares the story of her giant 2019 Oregon mule deer.

Making Sense of Scents – Josh Smith – Wild Carrot Scents

Bowhunter Chronicles Podcast Episode 79: Making Sense of Scents – Josh Smith – Wild Carrot Scents

This week Adam talks with Josh Smith from Wild Carrot Scents about the uses and differences between different deer scents.  Josh and his family had been harvesting the tarsal glands, bladders and urine from deer they had harvested each year and began packaging it up for friends and future use. Their products became so popular amongst the recipients that they were urged into creating a process to bring it to the public, so that’s exactly what they did.  Their products can be found in most local bow shops, on their website and on amazon. The link in the picture is an affiliate link so if you do buy some to try out we get a few pennies and we do appreciate it.

Opening Week Predictions

Bowhunter Chronicles Podcast Episode 77: Opening Week Predictions

This weeks episode Adam, John, Frank and Ernie  sit down two days prior to the opening day of Michigans Archery Whitetail season.  They discuss the scouting that they have been doing prior to the season, Adams saddle setup and the differences between the Out on a Limb Ridge Runner Platform and the Top Step Stick platform for Artisan Outdoor Fabrication.
There is of course some more tales of the garbage man.  They also talk about a new whitetail scoring system that the fellas over at the Huntavore podcast created that scores the deer based on the details of the harvest as well as the amount of meat recovered. They created a editable link to this system so you can enter your latest harvest and see how it stacks up.   The link to that can be found here https://huntavore.github.io
